Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry as the pioneer and path maker for Acme Surgical Industries completes his graduation in commerce from Karachi University and returns Sialkot (home city). Works in Everest Industries Private Limited as an Assistant sales manager for one year and learns the basic tools of sales.

Works in Pakistan Surgical Export Corporation as a Partner for three years till the end of 1975. From the start, his focus is on the manufacture and sales of surgical instruments. Market launch of innovative scissors, forceps and diagnostic products.

In 1973, he visits Greece, Italy, UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Lebanon and Holland to bring business for the company. During the tour he develops valuable trade relations with the foreign importers in the above stated countries.

1976

During the year he takes charge at Everest Industries Private Limited as a Sales Director. Improved grooming, insight, self-motivation and working experience enforce him to establish a new company of his own. During the same year Acme Surgical Industries is formed and on 01-10-1976, the company makes its first export to Ivory Coast.

Company Incorporation with the name Acme Surgical Industries Private Limited with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP). Acme Surgical Industries Private Limited starts out as a traditional import & export firm comprising of only 15 employees. Gradually, the company generates enough revenue to acquire a small factory space constructed on 1200 sq ft (Plot No. 21/434) in Majeed Pura, Raja Road Sialkot – Pakistan. The company generates export yield through the customers in France, Singapore, Germany, USA, Brazil, Venezuela and Greece. Export / Import Registration certificates are received by the Government of Pakistan. Membership enrolment with Sialkot Association of Trade & Industry having membership No. M-101.

Registration filed with the Surgical Instruments Manufacturing Association of Pakistan (SIMAP) having Membership No. A-012. Business relations are established with some companies in Brazil and Venezuela resulting in the increase of export growth. Exclusive agreement is signed with a partner in Spain focusing on the procurement of dental instruments.

Acquisition of the larger factory space i.e. plot # 66-c constructed on 5000 sq ft. Sales approval for Acme products in Ivory Coast Sales agreements are signed with the companies in Germany, France, Spain, Peru and Lebanon.

Exclusive agreement for the supply of surgical instruments with a company in Lebanon is signed during this year.

During the y ear Ch. Ashfaq Ahmed conducts his first visit to Spain Dt: 17-06-1983. During the same year tours to Belgium, Germany, Greece and Italy is cancelled.

Management Shifts the factory premises to Small Industries Estate No. 1 and a modern building is constructed on the Plot No. 12- A equipped with proper sanitation and pollution evaporation plant comprising of 12,000 sq ft factory space. Exclusive sales agreement for all European markets with German and French companies. Restructuring program initiated and registration with United Stated Food & Drug Administration Authority is processed.

Registration filed with the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) having Membership No. C-0296 Business Relations are established with the customers in Guatemala, Korea, Cyprus, and USA as a result of formal and written business correspondence.

Successful Business Tours are made to France, Germany, Portugal, Greece, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland and USA. Excellent record of export performance during the year.

Commencement of Business Meetings with the customers in Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Portugal and Switzerland.

Exclusive agreement is signed with a customer in Ecuador, as a result of which Acme makes its first export of surgical instruments to this part of the world.

In order to further enhance the success of his business, the honorable Chief Executive visits to Switzerland, Spain, Portugal and Saudi Arabia. Exclusive sales agreement is signed with a Saudi Partner During the same year, customers are attained in new markets of Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Malawi.

During this year Acme Surgical, together with a French partner, wins the tender supply of surgical instruments signed with World Health Organization focusing on the rural area health uplift project for Venezuela.

The founders son Sheraz Ahmed Choudhry joins the family company during the year as a Sales Director. Like his father, he expands the company, achieving worldwide sales while focusing on beauty care instruments.

Mr. Nouman Ahmed Chaudhry, the youngest son, joins the company as a production director.

After more than 36 years of entrepreneurial activity Mr. Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry is still having an insight on overall company performance and general operations. With the 3rd generation now in top management, Mr. Sheraz Ahmed Chaudhry, acting as Sales Director, will share the duties and responsibilities with Mr. Nouman Ahmed Choudhry [Production Director].

Due to his honesty, valued experience and good repute among the local as well as international business class Mr. Ashfaq Ahmed Chaudhry won majority of votes and hence was Elected as the Elected. Vice. Chairman at Sialkot International Airport Ltd. (A first of its kind in private sector and a mega project in the South East Asia which started in 2007 and now it is fully operational). Restructuring of sub-divisions including HR department, quality control management system, adoption of latest marketing approaches, incorporation of in-house research and development cell, formation of new company policy and launch of latest website and E-Catalogues was initiated during the year.
